Apple's new iPad is expected to go on sale in Korea in mid-April. The National Radio Research Agency on Tuesday said Apple headquarters on Monday applied for a radio wave certificate for the new iPad. "We normally issue a certificate within five days of receiving the application," an agency staffer said.
Electronics manufacturers usually start selling their products two or three weeks after they are certified.
Apple applied for the radio wave certificate for wireless LAN models with a price range of US$499-699. Earlier, on March 16, the California-based company started pre-order sales of the new iPad in major markets like the U.S., France, Germany, Japan and Hong Kong. Last Friday the iPad was launched in another 26 countries, including Austria and Belgium.
