The streets near the COEX mall in Samseong-dong, where the Nuclear Security Summit will take place on Monday and Tuesday, are scheduled to be partially closed during the two-day period along with major roads in central Seoul.
Subway trains running on line No. 2 will not stop at Samseong Station from Monday morning until 6 p.m. on Tuesday. However, free shuttle buses will run from nearby subway stations in their place.
Traffic will also be restricted on major roads when heads of state and leaders of international organizations travel between the airport, hotels, COEX and restaurants.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has also decided to organize a "leave your car at home" campaign during this period. Drivers with car plates ending in an odd number are requested to refrain from using their vehicles on Monday, or Tuesday for commuters with plates ending in even numbers.
To minimize any inconvenience during peak traffic hours, the city government plans to run subway trains more frequently, as well as operate an additional 412 buses.
