Hyundai Motor is opening showrooms in major Korean cities where potential customers can test-drive and compare its cars with rival imported models, the carmaker said Tuesday.

The test-drive centers in seven cities offer Hyundai's Genesis and Grandeur luxury sedans, Sonata mid-sized passenger cars and i30 and Veloster compacts among Hyundai cars. Customers can compare them with foreign cars including the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class, Toyota Camry and Lexus ES350 sedans, as well as Volkswagen Golf and Mini Cooper compacts.

"Customers will be able to make rational decisions after comparing our vehicles with imported models in terms of performance, price and quality," the carmaker said in a press release.
