92,000 Elementary Kids Suffer Bullying

      Around 15.2 percent of elementary school students in Korea have suffered from bullying, according to a study. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Wednesday said it sent questionnaires in January and February of 5.58 million elementary, middle and high school students, except in the first three years of school, and 1.39 million of them replied.

      Some 170,000 schoolkids -- 92,212 in elementary school, 56,568 in junior high and 19,697 in senior high school, said they suffered from violence in school last year."

      The most common form of violence was verbal abuse and threats (37.9 percent), followed by ostracism (13.3 percent) and foul language in Internet chat, e-mails and mobile phone conversations (13.3 percent).
