Americans, Chinese Voted World's Worst Tourists

American and Chinese tourists are the least popular travelers in the world, according to a recent survey by U.S. website Living Social of 5,600 people from Australia, Canada, Ireland, the U.K. and the U.S. on Sunday.

Some 40 percent of Americans named Chinese people as the worst travelers, but Americans were voted the worst travelers overall. Most Canadians and Australians, and over 20 percent of Americans themselves, agreed that they tend to be loud and inappropriately dressed.

About 40 percent of Americans admitted to stealing items from hotels, with towels being the most frequent item with 28 percent, followed by bathrobes (8 percent), batteries (5 percent), pillows (4 percent), remote controls (3 percent), sheets (3 percent), umbrellas (3 percent), and the Bible (3 percent).
