One in two KT subscribers owns a smartphone, the mobile service provider said on Tuesday.
According to KT, as of Monday, the number of its mobile subscribers stood at 16.32 million, with 50.1 percent using smartphones. This means the firm sees 10,000 new smartphone subscribers a day on average.
Subscribers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province are most likely to have a smartphone at 52 percent. By age group, 76 percent of the carrier's customers in their 20s possess a smartphone, followed by 61 percent of those in their 30s, 54 percent of teenagers and 44 percent of people in their 40s.
