Five-star hotels in Seoul are fully booked for late March because of the 2012 nuclear security summit on March 26-27. Huge business benefits are expected from the summit, which brings even more leaders to Korea than the G20 summit in 2010.
It was recently decided where world leaders will stay during the summit, according to the hotel industry. The 12 hotels include Hotel Shilla, Lotte Hotel, the Westin Chosun, and the Grand InterContinental Hotel.
Participants include leaders of about 50 countries, including the U.S. and Russia, and representatives from the UN, Interpol, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the EU.
The total number of official participants is expected to be over 10,000.
It is almost impossible to make reservations at most five-star hotels in downtown Seoul for late March. Hotel Shilla said its room occupancy rate is more than 90 percent for the period.
