Korea's e-book market has been growing exponentially, with more than 30 percent of book lovers opting for digital books, according to a recent survey by Kyobo Book Centre.
The market stood at an estimated about US$9 million in 2010 but increased five-fold to some W45 million in 2011. And this is expected to at least double or even triple this year.
Seeing the growth of the e-book market as an opportunity, many publishers have decided to go digital. The Korea Electronic Publishing Association, where publishers can learn how to digitalize their books, saw a surge in the number of people registering for their programs.
