Koreans' most preferred honeymoon destination was Phuket in Thailand last year. According to Hana Tour on Wednesday, 23.9 percent of newlyweds chose the Thai resort island, followed by the Philippines (16.4 percent), Hawaii (7.4 percent), Bali (6.9 percent), and Western Europe (6.3 percent).

Phuket and the Philippines held the top spots for the second year running, while Hawaii and Western Europe were new additions to the list.

Hana Tour attributed Phuket's popularity to a wide selection of flights and affordable accommodations. As for the Philippines, many couples from the provinces head there due to convenient flight schedules.
