The first duel between Park Ji-sung of Manchester United and Park Chu-young of Arsenal lasted a mere eight minutes and went with more of a fizzle than a bang on Sunday.
Both players were brought on as substitutes at the Emirates Stadium, with Ji-sung coming out in the 76th to help set up the winning goal, and Chu-young making little impact after he was called into action in the 84th.
It took exactly four months and 23 days for the current Korea captain to play his first Premier League match after he joined a struggling Arsenal side on Aug. 30.
Manchester United walked away with three points and a 2-1 victory on Monday morning thanks to Antonio Valencia's header in stoppage time in the first half and Danny Welbeck's game winner in the 81st. Due to their limited playing time, however, it was hard to call it a battle of the two Parks.

Judging by Monday's injury list, Ji-sung will likely enjoy more playing time in the future as three of his teammates -- defender Phil Jones, and midfielders Nani and Michael Carrick -- got hurt in the match. United already has many key players sitting out due to injuries, including defenders Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidić, midfielders Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Ashley Young and Darren Fletcher, and striker Michael Owen.
But the team still has many fixtures lined up with strong teams. It plays Liverpool away in the FA Cup on Jan. 28, Stoke on Feb. 1, Chelsea on Feb. 6, and Liverpool again on Feb. 11. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson may well have to depend on "three-lung Park" and his ability to slot into a number of different positions.
On the other hand, experts and fans believe Chu-young would be better off finding a team that gives him more chances to play. Since he joined the Gunners, he has only played in five games -– three in the Carling Cup, one in the Champions' League and now one Premier League match. He sat out 10 games in a row following the Carling Cup match against Manchester City in November.
Arsenal is set to face Aston Villa on Jan. 30 in the FA Cup, Bolton on Feb. 2 and Blackburn two days later in the Premier League. Although Thierry Henry, who missed Monday's game due to a strained calf, will be back in action soon, the team needs to play three games in a week. This may give Chu-young another chance to shine on the big stage as Manager Arsène Wenger could have to rest some of his key players.
