Apple claims the Galaxy Nexus, co-produced by Samsung Electronics and Google, has violated one of its patents.
According to foreign media, including Electronista, on Tuesday, Apple's attorneys insisted at a court in Mannheim, Germany, that the Nexus breached the California-based company's patent for its "slide to unlock" technology.
Apple, which registered the patent in Germany in 2006, claims the new Android operating system Ice Cream Sandwich, which is installed in the Nexus, copied this technology.
The device was not formerly part of the ongoing legal battles between Apple and Samsung as the phone was only unveiled last October. The Mannheim court said it will make a decision on the issues discussed during Tuesday's trial on March 16.
