From top, the signatures of Kim Il-sung, Jong-il and Jong-un

New North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent a reply with his handwritten signature to a letter from the students and faculty of Kim Il-sung University on Friday, the North's official Korean Central News Agency reported Monday.

It is one more way he is following in his dead father Kim Jong-il's footsteps.

Kim Jong-un appears to be imitating his father's handwriting as well, experts agree. The propaganda machine hailed Kim senior's handwriting as "the noble calligraphy of a great man." Kim Jong-il is in turn believed to have imitated Kim Il-sung's handwriting.
