K-pop singer Lee Hyo-ri will hold an event to meet fans at CGV Cheongdam Cine City in Seoul on Thursday in celebration of the release of a 2012 calendar aimed at raising funds for abandoned dogs.
The calendars were created as part of a campaign to promote the adoption of dogs, with Lee's pet serving as the main model. The singer adopted a dog that is blind in one eye early this year while volunteering at an animal shelter. All proceeds from the latest project will be donated to the Korean Animal Welfare Association.
Lee has been a vocal advocate for animal rights in recent years. This spring, she released a digital single in support of this cause with fellow singer Lucid Paul. She also met with British primatologist Jane Goodall, famous for her work with chimpanzees in Tanzania, in the U.S. in October.
