Employment among women in their 20s is greater than among men in the same age group for the first time.
According to the Korea Labor Institute on Tuesday, last year's employment rate for women in their 20s was 58.3 percent, as against 58.2 percent for men.
The total employment rate for both genders in their 20s dropped from 63.5 percent in 1995 to 58.2 percent in 2010. For men the rate plunged 17 percentage points from 73.2 percent, but for women it rose slightly from 55 percent.
