Samsung Makes 10-Nanometer Flash Memory Prototype

Samsung Electronics has produced the world’s second 10-nanometer NAND flash memory chip.

The firm unveiled the chip at an exhibition hosted by the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology on Thursday.

NAND flash memory chips are used mainly for cameras or smartphones. Samsung Electronics plans to begin mass-producing the chip next year.

Toshiba introduced the first 10-nanometer flash memory prototype in the first half of this year and pledged to mass-produce it from July but has yet to put it on the market.
