Koreans consider the animation character Pororo the little penguin synonymous with creativity.
A poll of 57,239 people by the National Library of Korea on its website and web portal from Sept. 5 to 14 saw Pororo top a list of "creative products" at 23.8 percent.
Respondents were asked to choose three of 20 creative products selected by 100 experts. "K-Pop" came second with 18.9 percent and KakaoTalk, a free SMS application, finished third at 18.2 percent.
Next came Bibimbap as in-flight meal (6.8 percent), the Pusan International Film Festival (3.2 percent), international humanitarian and development NGO Good Neighbors (3.2 percent), freeware "V3" (3.1 percent), non-verbal performance "Nanta" (2.4 percent), Kimchi refrigerators (2.4 percent), and hit TV drama "The Jewel in the Palace" (2.4 percent).
The National Library plans to invite creators of products to give lectures or speak at seminars about their reading experience.
