Incheon International Airport is expected to be more crowded than ever during this year's Chuseok, or Korean Thanksgiving, which begins later this week.
"We are expecting about 515,723 travelers to pass through the airport over the Chuseok holiday from Sept. 10 to 14, up 14.9 percent from 448,817 last year," a spokesperson for the airport said on Monday.
Of these, 506,982 are heading overseas, marking a 15.7-percent on-year rise.
When the holiday starts on Saturday, 106,431 travelers are due to pass through the nation's top international airport. It will see 101,586 people on Sunday, followed by another 99,591 on Monday, 104,592 on Sept. 13 and 103,523 on Sept. 14.
