The government has set up a special team to handle North Korea's unilateral liquidation of South Korean assets at the Mt. Kumgang resort in North Korea. The team under the Unification Ministry held its first meeting Thursday afternoon in Seoul.

As part of a legal and diplomatic response, officials are reportedly looking at taking the case to global bodies such as the International Court of Justice.

Angry at Seoul's suspension of tours after a South Korean tourist was shot dead in 2008, Pyongyang demanded that South Korean investors either join the new international tourism operation or give up their properties and facilities at Mt. Kumgang.
