LG Electronics performed well in the domestic and overseas smartphone markets, selling more than 120,000 Optimus 3D smartphones in the month since the model was released here through SK Telecom, a spokesman said on Monday.

It sold a total of 6.2 million smartphones around the world in the second quarter, up 590 percent on-year, according to the market survey agency Strategy Analytics.

LG did well thanks to its wide range of models from the entry-level Optimus 1 to the high-end Optimus 2X, industry insiders speculated.
