Kim Yu-na

Figure skating star Kim Yu-na earned more than W10 billion (US$1=W1,052) over the past year, Forbes reported on Tuesday.

The magazine said she collected US$10 million from July 2010 to June of this year as a result of competition wins and prize money, together with endorsement deals, advertisements and licensing payments.

This makes her the world's seventh highest-paid female athlete.

However her huge earnings still amount to less than half of that netted by top earner Maria Sharapova of Russia. The blonde-haired tennis ace pocketed US$25 million over the same period.
