Incheon International Airport expects a record passenger traffic on July 30. According to the airport on Wednesday, some 118,547 passengers are expected to use it on July 30, the most since it opened in 2001.
The figure includes an estimated 57,115 passengers departing and 61,432 arriving, about 2 percent more than the previous record of 116,273 set on Aug. 1, 2010.
The airport is busy working on measures to handle the expected increase in passenger traffic during the summer peak season from this Saturday to Aug. 21. It has secured parking space for an additional 1,650 cars by closing down the four-lane road around the long-term parking area, and the parking lot near the departure terminal on the third floor of the airport will be staffed by more people.
Incheon airport has been wooed by a number of different places around the world, as it has topped the airport service quality evaluation by the Airports Council International for six years in a row, and has acquired shares in six airports abroad.
