Kim Yu-na Exhausted After Olympic Bid

The strain of helping Pyeongchang secure the bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics seems to have tired out figure skating queen Kim Yu-na, who is now recovering from exhaustion, her management agency said on Sunday.

"She is taking a rest at home, but her condition is much getting better. In one or two days, she will likely be able to get back to her normal schedule," said a representative from All That Sports.

Kim caught a cold during her stay in Durban, South Africa, after impressing IOC judges with her passion for the Olympics, and her condition deteriorated on the 17-hour flight home. She complained of feeling unwell when her flight made a brief stopover in Bangkok, and subsequently suffered a bout of indigestion. When the plane touched down at Incheon International Airport on Friday, the 20-year-old was unable to attend a welcoming event organized for the Korean delegation.

Kim plans to continue shooting her show "Kiss and Cry" on SBS on Tuesday. She will also prepare for the "Samsung Galaxy-Hauzen All That Skate Summer 2011" ice show that will be held at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul from Aug. 13-15.

Meanwhile, Pyeongchang's bid committee will be dissolved and replaced by an official Olympic organizing committee within the next five months in compliance with IOC regulations. Bid committee spokesperson Rah Seung-yun, better known as Theresa Rah, returns to Korea on Monday.
