An exciting start to the Korean baseball season has seen the number of fans watching games at local stadiums rise as the competition among the top four heats up, with just 1.5 games now separating the first and the fourth-placed teams.
As of Sunday, a total of 3,116,397 fans have attended Korea Professional Baseball League games since the beginning of the season. The three-million mark was passed on Saturday, some 227 games into the season. This broke the previous attendance record set last year, which required 16 more games to attract the same number of people.
