Actress Park Bo-young has been named a goodwill ambassador for the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan), Asia's largest genre film gala.
Park said she is "delighted" to hold the post and will fulfill her duties happily. "I hope to meet as many people in the film industry and fans as possible, and show another side of me that has yet to be revealed," she added.
The actress rose to fame after starring in the hit comedy film "Scandal Makers" in 2008, which drew some 8.3 million viewers. Her next film is a horror thriller due to be released in July.
Park will be officially appointed to the ambassador position in a press conference on June 14, during which the list of films to be screened in this year's PiFan will also be announced.
PiFan is considered one of the most commercial and popular film festivals in Korea. This year's festival, scheduled for July 14-24, will include a variety of programs to mark its 15th anniversary.
