A Korean short film won the Delphic Art Movie Award from among 136 entrants from 42 countries at ITB Berlin, one of the world's biggest travel shows, on Monday.
The documentary entitled "Menari, the Sound of Korea" deals with the life of master singer Park Soo-kwan, who has devoted his life to preserving and handing down traditional folk songs from the eastern region of the country. The term "menari" refers to a scale used in such songs.
Park and over 30 of his students at Daegu Arts University appear in the film, which was co-produced by the university and the Eastern Korean Folk Song Preservation Society.
