The airline industry is expected to hire its biggest crop of new recruits ever this year after posting record-high revenues and operating profits in 2010.
According to industry sources Thursday, Korean Air plans to hire a record 2,700 new staff, including flight attendants, pilots and maintenance crew. Asiana Airlines is set to hire more than 1,100 new workers.
The carriers are boosting their workforces amid plans to expand their fleets over the next few years.
Meanwhile, budget carriers such as Jin Air and Air Busan are also gearing up to hire new recruits as they look to roll out services to more destinations.
