So Ji-sub Draws Huge Crowds of Fans in Japan

Actor So Ji-sub launched a fan club in Japan last weekend -- some 17 years after his debut in show business.

The popular TV star held two fan meetings in a 10,000-capacity hall at the Tokyo International Forum in Roppongi on Sunday. The day before he created a traffic jam at Tokyo's Haneda Airport as over 2,000 fans swarmed into the airport to greet him.

A book of essays and photos that So authored while traveling around Gangwon Province has sold over 10,000 copies in Japan since its launch in early February. The actor has been picked as a goodwill ambassador by the province to promote tourism there.
