Seoul is the most popular location of work among jobseekers, who hope for an average starting salary of W25.85 million (US$1=W1,123) with paid holidays and leave, a straw poll suggests.
The poll of 1,570 jobseekers was conducted by jobs portal Saramin.
Those with an advance degree hoped for a W30.56 million starting salary, followed by W27.06 million for those with bachelor degrees, W23.47 million for graduates of vocational junior colleges, and W23.12 million for those who only completed high school.
The largest portion or 35.9 percent opted for Seoul as the place where they want to work, 23.3 percent for the larger metropolitan area, and 19.1 percent for other major cities.
The most important perk was paid holidays and leave, followed by overtime pay, free meals, and subsidies for self-improvement, children's tuition and healthcare.
Some 46.7 percent did not care whether they work in a big or small company, and of them 37.8 percent said the salary is the most important factor.
