Girls' Generation Picked Korea's Favorite Singers

      Pop group Girls' Generation have been voted Korea's favorite singers for the second straight year.

      In a nationwide survey by Gallup Korea of 3,401 people aged 13 or over, 31.5 percent said they liked Girls' Generation most.

      The nine-member girl group took first place among all age groups, from teenagers to those in their 50s. The band's hit songs "Hoot" and "Oh!" ranked first and second on the list of most favorite songs.

      Boy band 2PM came in second, followed by Jang Yun-jeong, Tae Jin-ah and Kara.

      The most popular new singers of the year were girl group miss A and Huh Gak, the winner of the "Superstar K2" audition TV show.
