Intel and Samsung Electronics are set to remain the top global chip makers this year, U.S. market researcher Gartner said Sunday.
Intel is expected to occupy a market share of 13.8 percent, down from 14.6 percent last year, while Samsung is on track to grab 9.4 percent.
Intel posted sluggish sales in the mini-laptop PC segment for which it is almost the exclusive supplier, while Samsung saw its sales grow thanks to the DRAM and NAND flash memory segments, Gartner said.
