More than 250 people headed to Yeonpyeong Island on Saturday, including 109 local residents who fled nearly two weeks ago in the wake of North Korea's lethal artillery attack on the island, according to Incheon Port authorities.
It is the largest group to return to the island since the Nov. 23 attack.
With the ban on fishing off Yeonpyeong lifted as of Friday and utilities up and running again, more residents are expected to make their way back. But with the November crab-catching season now over and buildings and homes badly damaged, it will take time for life to return to normal.
