The Apple iPad tablet PC will finally hit the Korean market at the end of this month, hot on the heels of Samsung's Galaxy Tab, which debuted here on Nov. 13.
KT, which began taking pre-orders for the iPad last Wednesday, announced on Sunday that the gadget will be released on Nov. 30 through its online store and outlets across the nation.
The 32 GB iPad with both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity costs W886,000 (US$1=W1,132). But with a two-year mobile service contract at W42,500 per month, subscribers can get the gadget for just W320,400. The subscription plan includes 4 GB of free data usage per month.
Meanwhile, sales of the Galaxy Tab in the U.S. hit the 600,000 mark on Friday, 10 days after its debut there. Now attention is on whether it will be able to surpass the iPad's mark of 1 million units within just 28 days of its launch there.
