The U.S.-led United Nations Command is expected to launch an investigation into North Korean gunfire at a guard post in South Korea on Friday.
According to an unnamed South Korean military official, a UNC investigation team will be dispatched to the scene on Tuesday.
The official said that aside from the UNC's probe, South Korea's military will conduct its own investigation into Friday's incident. Short of an admission, it will be difficult to figure out whether the shots were fired intentionally.
So far no other unusual movements have been detected around the guard post where the shots originated or the military demarcation line.
