Korean pop group Girls' Generation won over the hearts of Taiwanese fans in two sold-out concerts in Taipei last weekend.

The shows named "The First Asia Tour Concert - Into the New World" at the Taipei Arena on Saturday and Sunday drew some 24,000 viewers -- the biggest audience ever for a foreign female group in Taiwan.

A day before the concert more than 500 fans welcomed the band at the airport in Taipei. Taiwanese media covered the arrival live, and over 100 reporters gathered for a press conference just before Sunday’s concert.

Girls' Generation sang many of their hit songs in the concerts, including "Gee," "Kissing You" and "Oh," with each of the nine members showing off their talents in solos. They featured a total of 36 songs to flamboyant performances, and were joined for rap sessions by Lee-teuk and Dong-hae from Korean boy band Super Junior.

Girls' Generation will launch their second single "Gee" in Japan on Wednesday.
