Korean Air is launching new international routes from Cheongju Airport, making international travel from the midlands much easier. On Wednesday it started regular flights to Osaka, and Thursday it will begin service to Bangkok.
A 149-seat B737-800 will depart Cheongju for Osaka four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and the same type of aircraft will fly from Cheongju to Bangkok twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
Cho Won-tae, Korean Air's executive director, said, "We will continue to add short-distance international routes to Japan, China and Southeast Asia from Cheongju Airport."
