President Lee Myung-bak received an award from the Convention on Biological Diversity under the United Nations Environment Program on Tuesday.

The award was in recognition of Lee's global campaign for biodiversity and green growth and the restoration of the Cheonggye Stream which flows through downtown Seoul.

The prize is given to those who make significant contributions to conserving biodiversity and promoting the sustainable use of its components.
