Free WiFi Zones Open in Subway Stations Nationwide

Smartphone owners will be able to use wireless Internet for free at subway stations across the country starting this month.

KT plans to open WiFi zones at all subway stations in Seoul and the metropolitan area, Busan, Daegu and Incheon by the end of August, the company said on Monday.

The mobile operator has already set up the zones at 84 transfer stations and 22 major stations on subway lines No. 1 through 8 in Seoul. Installation is underway at the remaining stations.

SK Telecom also finished establishing WiFi zones at subway stations in Busan and Gwangju. It is currently working on subway stations in Daegu and Daejeon, and will then start work for Seoul and the metropolitan area.
