Shin Ji-yai Wins Evian Masters

Shin Ji-yai won the Evian Masters by a single shot in Evian-les-Bains, France on Sunday (local time), becoming the first Korean ever to take the title.

Just six weeks after surgery to remove her appendix, Shin secured a victory with a nine-foot putt at the last hole to give herself a one-shot edge over Morgan Pressel and Alexis Thompson of the U.S. and compatriot Choi Na-yeon.

Shooting 67 to finish at 14 under, the 22-year-old 2008 Women's British Open Champion claimed a 340,000 euro prize and her 31st career title worldwide.

Pressel, the third round leader, closed with a 70, coming in second place along with Choi who birdied four in a row from the 14th for a closing 66.
