Stars Tapped to Promote G20 Summit

Figure-skating champion Kim Yu-na, footballer Park Ji-sung and actress Han Hyo-joo have been named promotional ambassadors for the G20 Summit to be held in Seoul in November.

The summit's preparation committee said, "We picked two world-champion athletes and a rising star as ambassadors for the international event, which will solidify Korea's status on the world stage."

An official appointment ceremony will take place next week.

"I'm honored to be named a promotional ambassador for such a significant event," Kim said. "I will join in the efforts to help support it."

Footballer Park said, "Playing in foreign lands for so long, I have come to understand the importance of a country's national image. I'll do my best to boost Korea's national prestige."

Han said she is looking forward to promoting the summit to the public and drawing participation and support.
