Baek Ji-young has won the jackpot both as a singer and as a businesswoman.
Her new single "Over Time" topped various music charts on the day of its release on July 1, showing off the power of a veteran singer in a market dominated by young singers and girl bands like Son Dam-bi, Narsha, Miss A and Sistar. Baek's greatest-hits album "Timeless: The Best" is also selling very well.

On top of that, the online shopping mall she runs with fellow singer Yu-ri doubled its sales this year. After the release of their bikini catalogue shot in Guam last month, summer items have been extremely popular, and the company is struggling to meet the explosive demand.
"Baek and Yu-ri's healthy and beautiful bodies must have made the bikinis and summer clothes stand out even more," a company staffer said. "Public interest must have also contributed to soaring sales."
Baek's management agency WS Entertainment said, "It seems that Baek's continuous study of clothes design, logistics and distribution, despite her very busy schedule, finally paid off." She also plans to launch a lingerie brand under her own name.
