Latest Blue Ribbon Restaurant Guide Released

The 2010 edition of the Blue Ribbon Survey, Korea's first nationwide restaurant guide, has been released in two volumes. One volume covers the southern region including Gyeongsang, Jeolla and Jeju provinces, and the other the central region of the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon and Chungcheong provinces.

This year's edition covers 2,310 restaurants in total, some 250 more than last year. It includes a more diverse range of eateries, not only traditional Korean restaurants but also Italian and French ones as well as wine bars.

The guide's ratings are based on online reviews by individual diners and assessments by expert Blue Ribbon panelists. The highest possible rating is three ribbons, and so far only Seoul has produced three-ribbon restaurants.
