Seoul Ranks 28th Among Global Financial Centers

Seoul ranked 28th among 75 major cities in the latest Global Financial Centres Index published by the City of London Corporation, the Seoul city government said on Sunday.

Seoul moved up by 18 places from 53rd among 62 cities in March last year to 35th in September, and another seven notches now.

The GFCI is a measure of international financial competitiveness based on the results of online surveys of bankers around the world and analysis of data by about 50 professional agencies on personnel resources, business environment, market accessibility, infrastructure, and general competitiveness.

London and New York were tied for first place, followed by Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Chicago, Zurich, Geneva, and Shenzhen and Sydney.
