The two Koreas have agreed that civilian delegations will meet at the joint Korean Kaesong Industrial Complex on Tuesday morning to talk about easier cross-border travel, communication and customs clearance, in lieu of a meeting of military officers planned earlier.
A Defense Ministry official on Sunday said the two Koreas agreed to hold the meeting at the office of the South-North Economic Cooperation Council in the Kaesong industrial park at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The five-man South Korean delegation is headed by Lee Kang-woo of the Unification Ministry.
Seoul and Pyongyang could not agree where to hold the military talks and compromised on a meeting of civilian officials instead. Seoul had wanted the truce village of Panmunjom, but Pyongyang insisted on the Kaesong industrial park as the venue.
