Kim Yoon-kyung, a former Finance Ministry official, and Sohn Jie-ae, former CNN Seoul bureau chief, were appointed on Monday as spokespersons for Korean and foreign journalists for the G20 summit in November.

Kim (45), a graduate of Seoul National University's Economics Department, worked as director of the Finance Ministry's planning division. Sohn (48), a graduate of Ewha Womans University's Political Science Department, was a reporter for the New York Times, a CNN correspondent in Seoul, and the president of Seoul Foreign Correspondents' Club.

"I've often felt it's a shame that Korea's developed politics, economy and culture have not been properly introduced to the world. I'll try to make sure that Korea gets a proper evaluation with the successful hosting of the G20 summit," Sohn said.
