New Multi-Pass to Include Admission to 5 Historic Sites

The Cultural Heritage Administration will introduce a multi-pass ticket in May allowing holders to visit five historic sites in Seoul, including the Gyeongbok, Changdeok, Changgyeong and Deoksu palaces and the Jongmyo Shrine. It will cost W10,000 and be valid for a month (US$1=W1,164).

There will also be changes in visiting rules at the sites. Currently some areas of Changdeok Palace are accessible to visitors only during designated time periods with palace guides.

Under the new rules visitors will be allowed to freely roam the grounds, with the exception of the rear garden which will keep the guided tour system to protect vulnerable cultural assets. Meanwhile, the royal ancestral shrine, which is currently freely accessible, will require visitors to be accompanied by guides.
