LG Display has signed a contract for comprehensive cooperation in the display business with Prime View International (PVI), a Taiwanese e-paper display maker, and Hydis Technologies, PVI's LCD unit, it said Monday.

With the collaboration, LG Display will start on an e-paper project to develop display technology designed to mimic the appearance of ordinary ink on paper.

E-paper reflects light like ordinary paper to create a display that is comfortable for the eyes and readable in strong sunshine, unlike a conventional flat panel display that uses a backlight.
