Travel writer and humanitarian Han Bi-ya, formerly the leader of the Emergency Relief Team for World Vision Korea, has donated W100 million in royalties from her books (US$1=W1,184).
According to World Vision Korea on Monday, the money will be used to support a clean drinking water project in southern Sudan and a youth camp founded by Han while she worked for the relief organization.
After working at World Vision Korea for nine years, Han left in August to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Humanitarian Assistance at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts University in Massachusetts.
