What are the best cars according to managers of imported car brands? When asked to pick one car from their own brand and another from a competitor, the answers varied from manager to manager.

Volkswagen Korea's Na Yun-seok said the Golf MK2 is the best Volkswagen and the Mercedes-Benz 300SL is his first choice among other brands. The 300SL has the most distinctive design, showing "the difference between design and decoration," he said.

Kim Ji-seop of Mercedes-Benz Korea considers the E350 the best Benz, and he also picked Kia's recently released K7 full-sized sedan as he feels it shows the potential of Korean cars.

The BMW M3 E92 was the first choice of BMW Korea's David Kim. Among rival brands he chose the Porsche Cayman S for the sports car's extraordinary balance.  

GM Korea's Bae Han-jung placed the new Cadillac SRX and the Ferrari F430 at the top of his list, and Nissan Korea's Cho Jae-seon picked the Nissan Murano and the Alfa Romeo MiTo.

Lee Dong-hee of Chrysler Korea chose the 1942 Willys MB, the U.S. automaker's classic sports-utility vehicle, and the 1963 Lotus 7.

When asked to pick an auto brand that will be noteworthy next year, three respondents chose Toyota, indicating that the auto industry is keeping a close eye on the Japanese automaker, which launched its signature brand in the Korean market this year. BMW and Hyundai-Kia each got one vote.
