The Taliban on Wednesday sent an open warning message to the Korean government over its decision to send fresh troops to the war-torn country.
According to the dpa news agency, the Taliban said in a statement e-mailed to media, "If they send their forces to Afghanistan..., then they should also be prepared for bad consequences."
In a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the Korean government approved a draft bill to send about 320 troops to Afghanistan's Parwan Province on July 1 next year.
The Taliban recalled their kidnapping of 23 Korean missionaries in July 2007, killing two and releasing the rest after 42 days.
The militants said Seoul had promised to pull out soldiers from Afghanistan and never to try and send any forces again. If it does and breaks the promise, the Taliban "will never resort to a soft approach anymore," they warned.
