Time magazine has published a list of 25 tourism attractions in Asia including the Demilitarized Zone separating South and North Korea, saying a visit there is among some of the most authentic Asian experiences.
The article describes a visit to the DMZ and the truce village of Panmunjom as akin to "living cold war history," "warping you back to the almost forgotten days of the Berlin Wall and Khrushchev's shoe." It mentions that former U.S. president Bill Clinton once called the area "the scariest place on earth."
Some of the other places, people and experiences Time recommends in Asia are the Tokyo Dome in Japan, a big squirrel-like marmot meat in Mongolia and a stroll along the Great Wall in Kabul, Afghanistan.
